If you're thinking of buying in France, you'll want to ensure you get the very best Euro rates for your GBP. We can help you with this. There are lots of forex services out there, but not all will give the same service. One of our team recently had need to convert about 450,000 euros to GBP after the sale of a property in Europe. He contacted several forex companies, explaining his situation. One never bothered to call him back; one called back 7 weeks after he had used another firm and converted; one gave him some very dodgy advice about which way the GBP/Euro was moving and one firm excelled! They called him every single morning (Mon- Fri), explaining what was happening in the global markets, what might happen to the euro/ pound in the shorter and longer term and that it would best to hold tight and wait. He did and the decision was worth over £2,500 to him!

The best way to convert your money is to use 'limit stops' : our expert advisors can help you to determine where you should set these stops but in a nutshell, you can pre-book your currency to convert automatically when the forex rate reaches your preset, 24 hours a day.

Currencies are volatile! Do not assume that if the euro is trading at 67.5p today that it will be the same rate tomorrow, or next week! The European Central Bank (ECB) and the Bank of England (BoE) can make surprise changes in interest rates without even needing to meet. A change in interest (base) rate will impact on forex rates. If the BoE move to increase base rate by 25 basis points (.25%), this will most likely cause a strengthening of your GBP pound - thus buying you more Euros. If the ECB move unexpectedly, and increase the euro-zone rate, you could be out by quite a bit!

Imagine being able to have access to forex dealers who will give you the latest city moods on interest and forex rates, thereby putting you in the driving seat. You may feel fairly bullish (optimistic) about the pound as a result of talking to our experts, believing it will further strengthen against the euro. You might decide you'd be happy to convert your GBP pounds at, say, 1.475 euro/ pound. Conversely, you may feel that if the pounds starts to slide, you are not prepared to convert at less than 1.4625. This is where your limit stops come into play. Money markets run 24/7 - they don't stop at 5.30 and go down the pub! While you're sleeping, do you know what the euro is doing against the Yen? Suppose the euro weakens 2% against GBP overnight. Without your limit stops in place, you'll wake up feeling a bit light! Place your order, go to bed and wake up with your euros already converted for you in our forex experts account. You will normally have 14 days to settle the deal (varies, so do check before you place your order).
